This is a bit of an odd blog as I am combining two weeks together...
Our Outset course has finally ended and thanks to the support of Pam Sekula and our fellow business trainees we have made massive strides in getting nearer to our business goals. Here is a massive plug for the following businesses who have made the same learning journey as us - Peboryon - cakes of distinction http://www.peboryon.com
Suzy Sharpe and her amazing wildlife paintings - http://www.suzysharpe.co.uk She is currently doing Feline February if you want a portrait of your cat...
Networking has become very important to us and getting to know the whole business community in Cornwall. The speed networking event organised by the Hub was great fun. I had no idea that Pot Luck existed... a great idea where foodies gather together. Their next event is at Mackerel Sky in Penzance.... check out their website here
http://www.potluckcornwall.co.uk/ We will be there !!! Also the West Cornwall Business Club has been a great source of information, many of these talented entrepreneurs are going to Cornwall Expo West from the 3rd-5th March to demonstrate their businesses and products. Perhaps we will be joining them next year.
Rich has managed to source some great new China for us - just look at this coffee pot.
There has been the usual experimenting with the menu and we are getting nearer to finalising it all now...and NO we aren't saying anything until our launch about what you can expect. We have done considerable market research and we are very keen to ensure that all visitors have something special that they can order. Louise has created an amazing gluten free, vegetarian and egg free cake...I can honestly say it was absolutely mouthwateringly delicious.
Some really stunning weather this week and the most magnificent sunsets.... Imagine this from the top deck of the bus.
We are making great progress now with the bus and are determinedly moving towards our launch date. The Environmental Health Officer is meeting with us to give us some advice as we piece the kitchen together. Today we were angle grinding the rough edges from the seats and the floor, removing rivets from the outside of the bus, building the basic framework, clearing rubbish, building the storage area for equipment and buying the worktop. We have 2 extra days working on the bus this week so watch this space....
I am Sharon Close, I have worked for years in Music Education and this is still something that I am passionate about. I live in the most amazing county of Cornwall and am so excited to be launching a brand new business that is a mobile catering company based on a double decker bus. My partners are Louise Walker, Jamie Walker, Jill Clark and Richard Close.
